Then remember to swap the executable names (Fallout3.exe and FalloutLauncher.exeįor me, it launched the launcher once but after using the play option on it and running the game, every time I launched from Steam it directly opened the game. I set it to FalloutLauncher.exe instead FalloutLauncherSteam.exe Sadly, the Anniversary Patcher and FOSE didnt work, when i press lauch_fose, it flashes a screen and nothing happends, while the changing to Falloutlauncher also didnt work, when i press play it just opens the launcher again, but thanks alot guysĭid you use SteamEdit to change the exe file that the game looks for? Now when I launch from steam it directly launches the game, not the launcher, and I could finally play the game after struggling for like an hour. So what I did is, set up everything (data files, settings, etc.) from Launcher and then renamed both exe files to swap their names (fallout3 and falloutlauncher). I tried renaming it to FalloutLauncher but Steam won't recognize when launching it, so in the end I ended up downloading SteamEdit and creating a "branch" for the game to look for FalloutLauncher instead of FalloutSteamLauncher.Īfter that, the game run but sadly the steam overlay and features like tracking woudln't work since after you pick play in the launcher it runs Fallout3.exe (or something along those lines).
